Before becoming a surgeon, Obadiah served with both the Royalist army and the forces of Parliament as a fighting man. He dresses in authentic costume for this presentation and displays a large selection of 17th century weapons and armour. These have been reproduced with meticulous attention to detail and are very much superior to much of the ‘re-enactment' quality equipment used today. Members of the audience are allowed to handle some of the items on display at the end of the performance. This is limited to helmets and plate armour as safety considerations are paramount.
This presentation lasts for around 30 minutes, which has been found to be the preferable amount of time for a standing audience. This is a very popular and well-received presentation.
